RULES
1.
Entry Fee: $350 per boat. Early entry fee is $300 per boat. Deadline is June
30, 2005.
Official tournament entry deadline is at the beginning of the Captain's
meeting. Entrants must be a member of the SKA to qualify for prizes and money.
2.
Captain's Meeting: The Captain or a team member (all team members are welcome)
from each boat must attend.
3. Eligible Species: King Mackerel only.
The heaviest single fish for the two-day tournament is the winner.
4. Qualified
Anglers: All anglers must have the proper license and obey all State and Federal
fishing and boating laws. No more than six (6) anglers per boat.
5. Tackle/Bait
Rules: All fish must be caught with hand held rod and reel. No electric reels,
hand lines, gigs, spears or netting allowed. Baits - natural, artificial and live
baits are allowed. All rods are out of the water at the beginning of the Captain's
Meeting.
6. Check Out Procedures: No Check out. Lines in water 6:30am.
All boats must check back in on Saturday 31, 2004. Failure to check in will disqualify
the boat from the tournament. No boat may not make landfall or receive or pass
anything to or from land nor can any two boats come together until both boats
are weighed in.
7. Weigh-In Procedures: Fish must be brought to the
weigh-in station by boat. One single fish will be off loaded at weigh-in by a
crewmember that remains with the fish until weigh-in is completed. All fish must
be caught that day of the tournament and shall be in a fresh and edible condition.
All fish weighed in become property of the tournament. Weigh-in station hours
will be announced at the captain's meeting.
8. No Mutilated fish will
be weighed in. Mutilation is defined as any damage, which impairs the fish's fighting
ability (ex: damaged fins or tails). The weigh master will make all decisions
regarding mutilation.
9. Ties will be decided according to weigh in
time.
10. Weather. This is a Captain's Choice tournament. All entrants
will fish at their own risk. The Captain of each boat will be fully responsible
for the safety of everyone on board the vessel.
11. Protests must be
made in writing no later than 30 minutes after the last fish has been weighed
for that day's competition. Any protest must be accompanied by a $200.00 deposit,
which will be returned if the Rules Committee upholds the protest.
12. Polygraph.
All Entrants are subject to a polygraph test to receive prize.
13. General:
All decisions by the Rules Committee are final. Any and all rule changes will
be announced at the Captain's meeting. Anglers are responsible for being well
informed of all rules.
